◆Summary
Everything the app records or stores — your cat's meows, your translation history, cat profile details — stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server we control. The on-device model that estimates your cat's mood runs locally on your phone; audio is never transmitted anywhere. We do not sell or share your data, because we do not receive it in the first place.
◆What we store, and where
Audio recordings of your cat's meows and your own voice messages, saved as local files on your device. Translation history (timestamps, the estimated mood/intent, your confidence feedback), stored in a local database on your device. Cat profile information you choose to enter (name, breed, age, photo), stored locally. App settings (for example, whether you've completed onboarding), stored locally. None of the above is transmitted to us or to any third party by the app itself.
◆Third-party services
PurrLingo integrates three third-party services, none of which ever receive your cat's audio recordings, translation history, or cat profile details: Google AdMob shows rewarded video ads that unlock extra free translations, and may collect device/advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data under Google's own privacy policy. Firebase Analytics (Google) collects anonymized app-usage events — for example, app opens, which screens are used, and subscription conversion — to help us understand and improve the app; it does not receive the content of any translation. RevenueCat processes subscription purchase and billing status (through the Apple App Store or Google Play, per each store's own policies) so the app can unlock premium features — it does not receive your cat's audio, translation history, or profile details either. ◆Your rights
From within the app, at any time, you can export a copy of everything stored above as a file via your device's share sheet, or delete all of it from your device immediately and permanently. These actions happen entirely on-device — there is nothing on our servers to separately delete, because your data was never sent to us.
◆Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children, consistent with its on-device-only design.
◆Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
